1,700,000 words

The other day my cousin Jen flew up from Lake Tahoe to shoot photos of Spun and I for our recent engagement.  Spun and I are huge fans of texture, color, interesting lighting as well as memorable spots in Seattle.  However, we don’t really care for the standard “wish you were here” postcard view of the city, we like the alleys and the industrial areas. We love how the flower stands at Pike Place are juxtaposed by the gum wall that very few tourists care to visit.  From the Olympic Sculpture Park, where we had our first quasi-date, to Harbor Steps down through Georgetown, Jen turned the evening into art.  Later, we sat around enjoying Flying Squirrel Pizza as we pa roused the 1,700 photos.  Before she could even process them, we were in awe.  Somehow she took our favorite spots and added magic.  A glint of the sun, a well cast shadow, the perfect amount of depth of field, all woven together to illustrate a friendship and love that can’t be expressed in words.  It must be expressed through art.

If you care to check out the flickr gallery of the photo shoot, please click here.  To contact Jen to arrange a photo shoot of your own, email her at jen [at] jenschmidtphotography [dot] com.  (Sorry for the obfuscation, I don’t want her to get spammed because of me!)

That said, please enjoy some amazing photographs … and I don’t say that because we’re in them.  ;-)
