He has been launching himself to the point of exhaustion at this thing for the past half hour or so. Now he’s slabbed out on the couch for a post workout nap.

Before I started drinking when I was 28, I drank a ton of Shirley Temples. Pitchers of them in fact.

When we were in New York back in October a long lost friend took us to a hole in the wall place called Employees Only. In front, there’s a psychic. Behind a velvet curtain and an unassuming front is a phenomenal speak easy. EO pours some of the most amazing drinks I’ve ever had, including the best Manhattan in Manhattan. Another drink on their menu is the Lady Shirley, which with a splash of bourbon and some freshly squeezed lemon is exactly what I should have been drinking all those years.

As we prep for our monthly 3rd Sunday Supper Club, where the theme is pink, I’m enjoying a bit of nostalgia with the grenadine, lemon, and maraschino cherries but this new bourbon twist. Perhaps I’ll bust it out for everyone else to enjoy tonight as well.

Found some super stale Red Vines in the no-no cupboard today while snooping for some sugar. Probably ought to kill off those Peeps from last year as well, I think they’ve thoroughly cured by now to the proper crunchiness.

I snagged a contract that has me out and about, which is great for shooting commute photos again. I liked how the looped rebar was slowly being engulfed by the green moss. The bright blue graffiti looping below also seemed to fit the concrete wall very well.

Amazing that I had a gorgeous view of Elliot Bay to shoot, marina and all, and I choose a concrete block with some moss and graffiti. Guess it just out-beautied the other side of the street.

Spun and I had an interesting Valentine’s day. We worked on a project inspired by love for the morning, pushing pixels, fusing ideas and making some beautiful visions come to life.

While we didn’t have a big bash of ourselves, it was great working together again … something we’ve talked a lot about doing, but have just now gotten the opportunity to do since I started working from home.

Definitely a great celebration of love, even of we didn’t go all out on the Hallmark holiday itself.

Too much work. Not enough caffeine.

Spun a lot of records today at the house. Loads of good percussion, jazz, The Ventures, The Cure, songs from Mexico and even an eighth of a song off of a French album that deserved the stereotypical movie record scratch it was that bad. Happy to hear a little pop and varying cadence again that only a belt driven music making device with physical media can provide. Sadly though, unlike Pandora, record tracks don’t have a thumbs up button or bookmark functionality that doesn’t require an index card, pen, or label maker. Oh technology.

Georgetown always puts their own spin on things, so it makes sense that they’d do the same when setting up a “mall.” a bunch of old school 5th wheels are set up with their doors open and interiors pretty much removed entirely for the sake of maximizing “retail floor space” within. Nachos were set out with nuclear yellow cheeze for all to enjoy. A dude was playing VJ with a couple video tracks and music from his iPod (Pink Floyd), projecting it HUGE on a neighboring warehouse wall. Some big kid in a speedo was dancing his bum off and shaking it like a Polaroid picture too. Sad about Polaroid by the way. I really ought to do a Polaroid week or something, hitting a number of their films. I digress. Good times on the Art Attack, though, we really didn’t see a lot of art like we tend to in Belltown or Capital Hill. Oh well, we followed the arrow to the mall, and that was worth roaming behind Jules Maes for.
