The “it” I’m referring to is the ubiquitous Ikea Produkt milk frother.

I sacrificed for the greater good and bit.  Today, I gave it a “spin”  to determine whether it was worthy investment.

I’m here to tell you, yes…yes it is!

Let’s start with some fresh, cold milk so you can see the volume I’m working with:

A mere 45 seconds in the micro and a quick buzz of this handy little device, and I had the most velvety, creamy, luscious foam ever!  So productive, it nearly doubled in volume!

What you're not seeing here is the overflow down the backside...whoops!

Normally I would have a double shot in this glass, but I was only able to have a solo macchiato, but BEAUTIFUL!  I had to finish it with a spoon :)

You want it, don't lie!

So next time you’re at Ikea, do yourself a favor and pick up the Produkt milk frother.  Soon your lattes will be rivaling that of the Mother Ship!

Pantone just released their Fall fashion color report for 2011, and while it’s a bit “candy coated” for my tastes, I do see some great potential for mixing in a few of these in with my standard pallet.  I’m currently working on a piece that mixes bamboo and deep teal [sneak peak] but find myself dreaming up ways to play with orchid blush and emberglow…lovely!

Imagine summer days…not our dreary Seattle gray…  What colors are you gravitating towards?

It is fused fine silver which I will apply a matte finish throughout and then then oxidize the smaller ring to a deep iron black. I’m considering suspending each ring by a coordinating finished length of silver chain — matte silver on the matte silver ring and oxidized silver on the oxidized ring — or perhaps swapping ‘em…we’ll have to wait ‘n see on how the end piece speaks to me. :-)
