So you may have noticed I disappeared for a moment with the blog. I’ve been slammed with work as well as … enjoying life and disconnecting a bit. Lots of photos were shot over the past few weeks, but somehow the vast majority didn’t make their way online. As such, here are some of my favorites.

I love commissioned graffiti, especially when it’s creative and fun. Down in Pioneer Square on Main and … we’ll call it 3rd … is a beautiful new piece. That’s mostly black and white with some awesome pops of vibrant triangular colors. Beautiful. There are three faces with similar treatments. Definitely make your way down and check it out.

I ran downtown today to have lunch with some friends and was surprised by another Destroy wheat paste poster in an alley I’ve never been down in Pioneer Square.

I love the humor and irony of having an outdoor thermostat. We’re perpetually trying to adjust things that are out of our control, thinking that if we just do this one thing or that thing, we’ll have “the perfect warm, sunny Seattle day” … or whatever fits that metaphor for you. In the end, more often than not, the dial is controlled by forces outside of our own and we can either fight the futile fight, or grab a jacket and enjoy the partly sunny, perpetual chance of rain type days.

I vote for the latter.

There should be some sort of autocorrect or at least red underline for folks that use grammar wrong … yes, they’re real words, but not the ones you wanted to use.

I apologize for your situation, however.

A little nook in a rain drenched alley in Pioneer Square this morning.

On my way into the office I saw some really intricate graffiti in Pioneer Square. The other night we watched Pearl Jam 20 … a great documentary on a band I love.

While this wall downtown had nothing direct to do with the band itself, the lyric resonated with me.

Kudos to Apple for making iPhoto for the iPhone and iPad. Seriously well done. The ease in which you can manipulate images, boosting saturation, adding effects, etc is pretty impressive. The brushes menu is gorgeous and I love the swatches as well.

Some downfalls exist though … every time you go back to the photo library, it seems to update. Boooooo. I have over 4000 photos on my phone. This is painful. PAINFUL. Also, why would you make such an amazing positionable vignette if you can only apply it to black and white photos? It’d be great to burn in color photos as well. Lastly, it seems like some of the filters don’t play nice with others. Why can’t you layer all things available? Why restrict creativity?

I am thoroughly impressed by this initial version and can’t wait to see what the future ones have in store for the blog as well as other photo enthusiasts. Once I switch from .mac I mean MobileMe to iCloud I’ll likely do another post about that integration with journals.

I love this bear. It is actually painted on a canvas or heavy piece of paper and then posted up on the wall with, I’m assuming, wheat paste. I know I’ve seen this guy’s work before in Greenwood at the artist’s collective run by John Osgood. I’ll track his name down and post it up as an update. In the mean time, rawr Pioneer²!!

Looooong day working on a handful of projects. Feel a little punch drunk and thankfully, I get to do it all over again tomorrow.

Time to retreat back to the corner for some R&R before the bell rings again.

An awesome spiderman symbol about 6-7 feet tall on the back side of Local 360 in Belltown. A huge can of PBR … or perhaps a bottle of Jack Daniel’s mural … was painted here before this Spidey came along.
