Today I’m headed back up to Cicada Tattoo for a touch up with Jason Drager. A bit more orange-red and a splash of india ink and I think we’ll call this black eagle complete. What will be next? Perhaps a chickadee for my grandma who fed them from her hands in Twinsburg, Ohio when we were kids. I’m enjoying the idea of a bird tribute arm. :-) Spun will likely be picking his brain while I’m under the needle as well for ideas on her ink that she wants to get in her right arm. Super looking forward to seeing colors emerge from under her skin that have been there in spirit for years.

I walk and won’t run. I’m T-4 hours from getting inked with some sort of rendition of ourBlaine Fontana painting by Jason Drager at Cicada Tattoo. We’ve tried a few ideas and all have been a bit too detailed thus resulting in colors bleeding together over time … like this one I worked up, inspired by photos of the underpainting and final piece hanging in our home.

I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with. He definitely knows what will age well and what just doesn’t translate well from pixels to ink. Undoubtedly there will be a photo later.

Photoshop it on. Or in my case, since I just do these morning posts with my phone, use Filterstorm for iPhone. Not bad for a train ride in. Looking forward to the actual consult tonight up at Cicada Tattoo with Jason Drager. Finally this painting by Blaine Fontana will make its way to its proper home. More actual photos as it progresses.
