I love the Seattle Public Library‘s architecture. This thing is out of control cool. Completely erratic, bizarre, yet it feels like it fits right into our city. On a beautifully sunny day like today, the juxtaposition of the massive glass ceiling reinforced with steel against fluffy white clouds effortlessly floating by seemed entirely fitting. There are some really great facts about the Central Building … most surprising is that the weight of the steel used on the building is 20x that of the Statue of Liberty. Unreal to think that we could have 20 of them stacked up in that one block area that also has 9,994 panes of glass.
